Your wedding day doesn't have to be as traditional as you think. A lot of people these days are choosing to have a much more intimate wedding with their closest friends and family because it means more to them.
This intimate moment can be on the beach, cliffside or on top of a mountain and can run the entire day.
Me, being an adventure elopement photographer, comes along to document the biggest day of your life. All the amazing things you love to do with your partner, hiking, surfing, canoeing, camping, exchanging vows. I'm there to get it all.
You're unique and your wedding day can reflect that.

What Inspires Me
After travelling to over 20 different countries and living in different cultures, it has fuelled the spark within me to do things differently to the ‘normal person’. Which is why I believe so much in getting married the non traditional way.
Being able to say no to the ‘BIG WEDDING’ simply because it doesn’t sit right with you as a couple is one of the bravest things you can do.
This day is about you as a couple and not everyone else. It’s not about what venue you’re at or what flowers you’ll have. It’s not about where everyone will be sitting or if you should invite that cousin you don’t even talk to.
It’s about the things you love as a duo. Maybe that’s hiking up a mountain or camping in the bush. Maybe it’s the place you first met or maybe it’s somewhere that has sentimental value.
The point is, you don’t have to be limited to 4 walls and venues that do weddings. The sky is the limit…literally. People have eloped skydiving! YES, skydiving because it’s something that means a lot to them.

My Favourite Things

Here’s where you can delve further into your favourite things outside of wedding photography – everyone might be able to be a photographer, but there’s little quirks that make you unique – chat about that.
Maybe you can talk about your favourite hobbies, food, art or leisure activities. What you do to wind down when you’re not shooting – pets, your family, your hometown.
You can also use this opportunity to rehash your love for travelling – a great way for you to subtly remind them that you’re open to shooting destination weddings.
Remember to wrap up this section by tying it back into wedding photography. For example, “That’s a little sneak peek into my life and a few of my favourite things. No matter who and where we are, we’re all souls wandering this beautiful earth, with a different story to share. No tale is one and the same. And that’s why I LOVE documenting love stories (and hopefully yours too!)”
Behind The Lens
Uncover your overall approach to the day and an overview of your process. Help them picture what it’s like to have you there on the day and why what you do is so important. Mention how you’ll help them ensure the day flows smoothly, because you’ve had loads of experience at other weddings.
For example, talk about how you’ll arrive at first light to capture the mother-of-the-bride and the bridal squad helping the bride get ready. Or the groomsmen sneaking a few drinks to calm their nerves.
Chat about how you’ll turn up after one too many coffees, buzzing with energy to capture one of the most important, memorable days in their lives, and that you won’t miss a moment.
Write about documenting the getting ready prep through to ceremony, reception and afterparty (if relevant). How you’ll be there in the centre of it all or as a wallflower behind the scenes, photographing moments and details that they might’ve missed (e.g. Aunty Doris getting drunk on the d-floor). Whether you stick to purely candid shots or will pose them for styled shots.

My Philosophy
I use to work at Coles supermarket. To be honest, I didn't want to be there but it provided me money and security. I wasn't happy and that didn't sit right with me.
So, I made the crazy and scary decision to move to London. BEST decision I ever made. This opened my eyes to trying different things. Everyone told me not to go and that it wasn't the wisest thing to do, but I listened to my gut and did it anyway.
In life, we have to listen to what our heart says. As corny and cliche as that may sound, it's true. It's what I did and if you're here thinking about eloping, it's what you're going through right now.
Listen to your gut.
